We’ll gather at the four sacred and potent initiatory earth calendar holidays, or sabbats, on the Wheel of the Year.

The initiatory holidays are often overlooked, unknown, or a mystery in our modern times. At these sacred thresholds, approximately six weeks before the Solstices or Equinoxes, the seasons begin to shift in subtle ways. Paying attention is one key to our awakening of ancient earth wisdom that holds depth for our modern lives.

All offerings will be recorded if you cannot attend a session LIVE. But it is highly recommended to attend if you can with us on Zoom.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

For previous attendees of the Journey Around the Wheel course, this earth honoring circle will be a deepening of what you’ve already learned as we will co-create with the elements in community at each turn of the wheel of the year. Note that all are welcome whether or not you have formal experience with earth wisdom. The more the wheel turns, the more we learn. We will gather, engage in ritual and a calling of the elements and create some magic together each time we come together in circle.

Our time together will begin at Imbolc (or Groundhog Day / the lunar new year) in early February. At this gathering we’ll call in the elements and energy of the late winter/early spring season, and engage in Air and Word Magic through learning or fine-tuning the art of spellcraft.

Next, we’ll come together and welcome the Earth Magic of Beltane (or May Day) in early May and celebrate the awakening of late spring/early summer and honor the light half of the year. For this gathering we’ll tune into flower magic, and learn the art of creating flower-based herbal body offerings for yourselves or others (oils, teas, fresh plant tinctures, baths, essences, and more).

As summer begins to wane in early August and Fall begins to come in, we’ll circle for Lughnasadh (Lions Gate and harvest festivals) and tune into Fire Magic. We’ll drop into what it means to savor the harvest, and learn the art of making herbal syrups, teas and solar infusions. You’ll also get tips on how to preserve herbs and flowers for the winter season to make into teas, or other herbal creations.

At the portal to the darkest part of the year as the veils grow thin (and the beginning of Winter), we’ll gather for Samhain (Halloween or the Witches New Year) to connect with the power of Water Magic, and communing with our ancestors through ceremony and ritual. You’ll also learn the art of ceremony and ritual, and how to build your own strong container to let the magic unfold.

Remember every seemingly random holiday on our modern calendar is connected to deep and ancient earth wisdom. The wisdom is still here waiting for us to return home, to remember.

NOTE : This offering is rooted in Celtic Indigenous wisdom and practices as taught to me and practiced for many years. Earth Wisdom is everywhere, and in every part of the world. We may have different names for the holidays, and slightly different ways of honoring and celebrating the sabbats and wisdom - but we are all connected.
