Body oiling provides a layer of protection between you and the world, and helps when conditions are particularly challenging — especially when there is pollution, fire smoke, as well as really cold or dry conditions. Body oiling also helps deeply support your nervous system.
Join us for an exploration of healing oils and herbs
For generations the practice of putting an herb and a fat together to create a body oil or salve has been around to help us with immunity, nourishment, calming and grounding. Body oiling is one of the most delightful, and important remedies that we can do in our everyday lives. Many of us have grown up putting lotion that we purchase at the store on our skin, and while that is not a bad practice, there is another way that is better for your skin, the environment and the small business (or farms) that you are supporting as opposed to a big corporate brand.
Body oiling is a delightful and nourishing thing to do for your skin, and there is an oil and herb blend that is right for your skin type (even for sensitive or acne-prone skin). Body oiling provides a layer of protection between you and the world, and helps when conditions are particularly challenging (especially when there is pollution, fire smoke, as well as really cold or dry conditions). Body oiling can also help deeply support your nervous system.
There are so many wonderful herbs that when combined with oils like olive oil, almond oil or jojoba oil can provide a lot of healing to your skin. Body oiling with St. John’s Wort or Arnica-infused oil has been shown to help with arthritis and inflammation. Lavender oil is wonderful for stress relief, immunity and also sunburns. Calendula infused oil is great for diaper rash, as well as eczema and for helping wounds heal faster. There are many oils and herbs to explore!
In this experiential workshop, we’ll talk about all of the properties of different herbal oils, and the carrier oils so you can begin to experiment and try out different options. And you’ll even learn how to make a fresh plant oil with lavender or rosemary, and how to make a dried plant oil. It will be a lot of fun, and informative! You will get a grocery list to make some herbal body oil with us LIVE if you choose.
